My painting “Love Me Tender” will be on exhibit at the Thrasher-Horner Center for the Arts through June 4. The exhibit open 10 am-3 pm weekdays is presented by the Art Guild of Orange Park, Florida.
My lighthouse art, “Love Me Tender” of the Lilac Lighthouse Tender captures the dynamic and heroic Coast Guard Cutter. The intense colors of red and blue hint at the patriotic mission of the Lilac. The U.S. Lighthouse Service used such vessels to carry fuel, food and other essential supplies to lighthouses, lightships, their keepers and crews.
The last of a dying breed, the LIlac is the only surviving steam-propelled lighthouse tender in America and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
A print is available for purchase.
